Dear Golani members,

We wish to update you on the main activities of the Golani association since the beginning of 2017.

These days, ahead of the Passover holiday, the organization distributed 260 food vouchers to the soldiers of the brigade who cannot afford to buy groceries for the holiday – the vouchers were distributed by the “Vision for Israel” association. At the same time, another 100 lone soldiers received gift baskets with groceries for Passover – packages donated by Bank Leumi, which cooperates with the Golani association and assists the welfare of the brigade’s soldiers.

At the beginning of 2017, an annual ceremony was held in which grants were distributed to 20 outstanding soldiers for their service in Golani brigade. The ceremony was held in a modest format in the Golani military base in the presence of the families of the soldiers and their commanders, total amount of the grants distributed was 100,000 NIS.

In advance of the events of the 50th anniversary of the Six-Day War, we are working (with the assistance of many parties) to improve the monuments at the Golan Heights sites: Tel Faher and Tel Azzayat and to improve the roads that reach them. On June 8, 2017 a meeting of Six Day War Golani fighters will be held at the battle sites where the brigade fought. A meeting that will end with the Golani Brigade, the fighters of the past, the bereaved families and the soldiers and commanders of the brigade.

Those of you who took part in the Six Day War and would like to take part in the event are invited to contact Liat, the organization secretary, in an email-, in order to register to the event.

The Golani Trail will mark the 70th anniversary of the State of Israel, also marking the 70th anniversary of the Golani brigade.

These days, you can go to the website of the association sections of the trail and you are invited to enter the site –

To be impressed by the path and even to follow the routes of the Golani fighters. On the website you can also be impressed by all the activities of the association.

The organization also has a Facebook site called “Golani with Love – Golani Association”, which updates our activities as well.

We continue with our effort to locate and recruit new association members in order to expand and reach maximum members for the 70th anniversary of the Golani and the State of Israel in 2018.

We would be grateful if you, too, members of the association and Golani veterans will forward the details of the association’s website among your dear friends.

Those of you who have not yet submitted a membership fee for 2017 are invited to transfer the attached form of registration.

Wishing you and your families all the best.

Maj. Gen. (Res.) Gabi Ofir – Chairman of the Golani Association
